Closing date and time is finally set

After an annoyingly long delay, we finally have a closing date and time - tomorrow May 1st at 3pm. Our house has been complete for almost two full weeks now and we have been waiting on the bank to make their final approvals. They did not want to accept the temporary Certificate of Occupancy that the builder provided. Also, they decided at the last minute to ask me for all sorts of financial information that I have no idea why they didn't ask for a month ago.

Finally, today the builder and lender reached an agreement about the CofO and we were cleared to close. I'm very relieved, and we'll only be homeless for about 24 hours.

Updates

Our closing has been pushed back 1 week so it will now be the week of April 20th. I'm slightly bummed, but not much we can do. The hardwood is laid, the screens are on the windows, the final electrical is complete and the light fixtures are up. They are installing the carpet on Monday the 13th, and pouring the driveway and garage next week as well. Our final walk through will be Saturday the 18th. Since we're pushed back a week, I'm hoping the closing will be early in the week - which will give us time to get the appliances ordered and get things settled at the house.

Our tenants get the keys to the Callender house April 29th - so hopefully no more delays or we might be homeless!!

Finally got to walk through!

Last weekend we finally got to walk through the house and we walked around the outside (it was dry enough not to sink in)! The cabinets and counter tops were in and look AWESOME. The tile was in but we could only see a few glimpses because everything was covered up for painting. The painting was completed early this week, and final mechanicals will be completed by the end of this week. They have the forms up for pouring our driveway and sidewalk.

We bought our microwave and dishwasher on Wednesday and they are going to be delivered to the house next Tuesday. It's getting close!
